Fair Employment Practice Investigation Center of Excellence Leader, GE Global Operations and Information Technology

Anne Alzapiedi (MPA 1988) is a Fortune 100 HR executive, enterprise crisis leader, and certified executive coach known for leading with calm, clarity, and conviction in moments that define organizations. During her GE career, Anne played an important role in navigating some of the company’s most defining chapters from the post-financial crisis restructuring of GE Capital to the historic three-way separation that created GE Vernova, GE Aerospace, and GE Healthcare. She builds resilient organizations that perform, especially under pressure, by combining operational rigor with a deep commitment to people.

Most recently, Anne served as HR Crisis Management Leader at GE Vernova, where she established the company’s first HR enterprise crisis management function, aligning preparedness and response. She launched GE Vernova’s Crisis Liaison Program, embedding executives with business leaders during crisis events to capture real-time insights and strengthen future readiness.

Previously, Anne built GE Vernova’s Corporate HR infrastructure from the ground up for a new global organization of 4,000 employees, shaping culture, continuity, and talent strategy as the company grew to become one of the top performing S&P 500 stocks in 2025. Earlier in her career, she served as Senior Executive HR Leader for GE Corporate and GE Capital, leading multiple complex workforce transformations such as:

  • Leading HR strategy development for the $30B sale of GE Capital Aviation Services that was critical to GE’s global restructuring.
  • Directing HR separation and stand-up of three Treasury organizations for each new GE entity prior to spin.
  • Founding GE’s first global Center of Excellence dedicated to investigating Fair Employment Practice concerns.

Known for her composure and decisiveness under pressure, Anne has long been committed to crisis response and humanitarian leadership. In 2013, she led GE’s 14-month-long recovery partnership with the Town of Newtown, Connecticut following the Sandy Hook tragedy, developing the crisis communications framework, serving as media liaison, and overseeing transparent distribution of funds and donations that supported the town’s long-term recovery.

A licensed EMT, Anne has volunteered as a first responder for more than three decades in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She currently serves on the Massachusetts American Red Cross Board of Directors and Philanthropy and Biomedical Committees and has deployed with the Red Cross in support of disaster response efforts, including as an Elected Official Liaison in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.

Anne holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Skidmore College, and completed Harvard University’s National Preparedness Leadership Initiative.
