A native of New Hampshire, Andrew Theberge moved to Massachusetts after being hired by the Massachusetts Probation Service (MPS) in 1997 as a research coordinator in the Office of the Commissioner of Probation. After working in this capacity for two years, Andrew moved “to the field” as a probation officer and worked in Probate & Family, District and Superior Court departments for the remainder of his career which spanned nearly 25 years. In addition to his regular duties, Andrew served on the MPS Veterans Training and Services Committee and as an instructor teaching the Ohio Risk Assessment System and Defensive Tactics to probation employees throughout Massachusetts.

Andrew is also a veteran of the United States Army, having served as a reservist for 26 years. He began his military career as an enlisted infantryman, later served as a Drill Sergeant and, after completing Officer Candidate School, served as a Transportation and Logistics officer. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004-2005 (Iraq) and 2007-2008 (Kuwait). His favorite peace-time service involved teaching Military Science to cadets at the United States Military Academy during intercession in both 1999 and 2000. Having attained the rank of Major, Andrew transitioned from the active reserve to the retired reserve in December 2010.

Presently, Andrew resides in Chicopee, MA with his wife, and their two school aged sons. Their oldest son lives in eastern Massachusetts.
