Andy Pixley is a Master of Public Administration (MPA) student serving as a Research Assistant in the School of Public Policy for the 2022-2023 academic year. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut and looks forward to returning to his alma mater for his master’s degree.

Andy has a strong interest in social policy and social work. His volunteer experience as a cat socializer at Protectors of Animals and a support group facilitator at PFLAG Hartford helped him discover his passion for helping others and informed his decision to pursue public service. He is particularly interested in LGBT+ advocacy and intends to make this a core part of his career, especially given the recent increase in hostile legislation targeting this population. With an MPA, he hopes to work closely with experts to push for compassionate, research-informed policies.
