My name is Avery Holzworth, and I am a first-year student in the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. I attended Stonehill College and double-majored in Political Science and Spanish, with minors in Economics and Latin American and Caribbean Studies.

Over the summer, I completed a fellowship with the non-profit Sustainable Connecticut at the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (SECOG). During that time, I supported municipalities to work on numerous sustainability projects and develop new policies. I will be continuing my work with SECOG as a Planning Intern to gain a stronger understanding of regional-level policy.

My main policy interests relate to climate change, immigration, and public health. I look forward to exploring these areas more deeply and discovering new ones throughout my time at UConn.
