Colin Piteo is a graduate student from East Hampton, CT, pursuing a graduate degree in public policy. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2024 with degrees in History and Political Science and minors in Latin American Studies and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. In 2023, he worked as a SURF undergraduate researcher, pursuing a designed project exploring environmental protection in Argentina. He has also contributed to research surrounding resource extraction theory through his honors thesis, looking into the relationship between resource nationalism and political framing in the Lithium Triangle. In addition, Colin has a passion for education as he has worked in education and curriculum development for the past three years with the MeshEd Collective, shaping curriculum focused on everything from the climate to podcasting. In the future, Colin is interested in working with state governments on issues such as empowering education and protecting the environment.
