I chose to pursue my MPP not only because of the experiential learning opportunities like the IPP program, but also because of the practical skills-based learning offerings that prepare one for civil service. Through the MPP program, I was able to analyze municipal budgets, which has helped me have a more thorough understanding of the near $80 million school budget I voted on this past year. I also learned a great deal about union negotiations, which has been instrumental in the negotiations I have taken part in with our school. This program not only prepares one for civil service, but elected office as well.
