Senior Admissions Officer, UConn Office of Undergraduate Admissions

Jomaira currently works as a Senior Admissions Officer at UConn in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In this role, she meets with prospective students and families and serves as territory manager for Hartford and Tolland counties in Connecticut. She is responsible for the application review for a variety of high schools across the state. She also oversees the multicultural recruitment and diversity initiatives through the office including the UConn Summer LEAD Program which she chairs and supervises. The program brings hundreds of first generation to college and underserved students to campus to experience college life.

Jomaira is a Connecticut native and received her undergraduate degree at UConn. Before returning to UConn in 2017, she worked at other institutions of higher education and served as an AmeriCorps member through a non-profit organization.

She recently completed training through College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy and currently serves on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice Collaborative at UConn.
