Senior Research Assistant, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Nick is a Senior Research Assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, where he conducts economic research and policy evaluation with PhD economists. His work focuses on the New England states, and ranges from analyzing regional macroeconomic trends to quantifying the impacts of access to childcare and English proficiency on labor market outcomes.

Nick graduated magna cum laude from UConn in 2023 with bachelors’ degrees in economics and political science. During his time as an undergraduate, he worked as a research assistant for professors Jeffrey Ludwig, Metin Coşgel, and Charles Venator-Santiago. He also spent a semester in Washington, D.C., interning with Congressman John Larson of Connecticut. In 2024, he completed the accelerated Master of Public Policy degree, with a concentration in quantitative economics. During that year, he interned at the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Lisa Morrissey, he addressed priority initiatives, including devising an equitable distribution of millions of dollars of federal funds to improve drinking water quality.

“My advice to current SPP students would be to take advantage of the opportunities the program has to offer. Whether it’s taking on an extra project at your IPP or networking with your professors, those experiences really add up.”
