Susan is the Founder/CEO of Let’s Build IT – a leadership development, consultation and training company, Executive Director of The John Maxwell Team and the Training Director for the Connecticut Alliance to Benefit Law Enforcement also known as CABLE.
Susan is committed to inspiring, equipping, and aiding personal and professional growth through speaking, study and practical application of a variety of proven leadership development methods.
Her leadership beginnings started as a supervisor for United Parcel Service followed by a 20-year career as a municipal police officer where she learned the value of servant leadership.
After the tragedy in Sandy Hook, Susan felt compelled to get involved in a variety of children’s behavioral health and Juvenile Justice system reform efforts. Susan believes the people closest to a problem are essential to informing and developing solutions. She is committed to helping families, youth, agencies and organizations build sustainable change-making partnerships.
As a speaker, trainer, and coach, Susan delivers high-energy thought-provoking content filled with passion and entertaining stories. Susan is the creator of Stories: SMARTTM a five-step framework for developing a persuasive story. Susan holds a Master of Science degree in Social Work, a Master of Arts degree in Women’s Studies and undergraduate degrees in Sociology, Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Susan is the mother of two adult daughters and enjoys traveling and meeting new people.
