Ryan Pothering, P.E. is the Transportation Supervising Engineer for the Office of the State Traffic Administration (OSTA) at the Connecticut Department of Transportation. In this role, he is responsible for reviewing the traffic impacts of large-scale developments, establishing speed limits on State and local roads, approving locations for the safe and equitable deployment of speed safety cameras, and recommending legislative proposal, among many other responsibilities. Ryan joined CTDOT in 2013 working for the Safety Engineering Unit in the Department’s Division of Traffic Engineering, managing projects dedicated towards reducing fatalities and serious injuries statewide. He holds a Master’s in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut.

Ryan is also an instructor for the UCONN T2 Center, assisting in the training of Connecticut’s 169 Local Traffic Authorities.
