Rebecca W. Lyman, CPA, is a Certified Public Accountant, a director with CohnReznick, and a member of the Firm’s Not-for-Profit and Education Industry Practice. Rebecca has been involved with nonprofits in some shape or form throughout her life and has dedicated her career to servicing Not-for-Profit organizations. With over 15 years of experience during her career, Rebecca takes a leadership role in managing, planning, and supervising various engagements. Across multiple industries, Rebecca works closely with management and clients to provide services such as accounting, auditing and financial reporting. Rebecca has audit experience with many sizes and types of not-for-profit organizations, including foundations, associations, social service, and arts and culture organizations. She also has experience with planning, managing and supervising single audits as many of her clients require Federal or Connecticut State single audit reports. Rebecca has extensive technical and practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), OMB Uniform Guidance, and the Connecticut State Single Audit Act.
Rebecca is a local instructor with CohnReznick’s Learning and Development Team and is involved with teaching a variety of staff programs. Rebecca has additional experience in construction and employee benefit plan audits. Rebecca also instructs a number of educational sessions throughout the year on a variety of topics relevant within the Not-for-Profit industry, and she is active on the CTCPA nonprofit committee, which plans the annual nonprofit organizations conference.
