Shane Donahue

Shane Donahue is a mathematics educator and civic leader whose work centers on expanding educational access and strengthening community in northeastern Connecticut. A UConn Noyce Math Teacher Leader Fellow, he has worked on district and state level initiatives to improve K–12 mathematics pathways and education.

In Putnam, Shane teaches mathematics and has advanced school initiatives, establishing the high school’s UConn Early College Experience program, developing student capstone course, and advising student civic engagement projects. His commitment to his community extends beyond the classroom: Shane is also a member of the Putnam Board of Finance and the Putnam Lions Club.

Rooted in the values of empathy and service, Shane is dedicated to addressing the interconnected challenges facing rural communities.
