Health Program Assistant II, CT Department of Consumer Protection

Karonesa Logan is a public service professional with more than a decade of experience in Connecticut state government. She currently serves as a Health Program Assistant II with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection’s Drug Control Division, where her work spans public health education, policy research, regulatory initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. Her work has included developing professional education and training, contributing to legislative and policy initiatives, and translating complex regulatory information into practical resources for healthcare professionals and the public.

Prior to joining the Department of Consumer Protection, Karonesa spent more than seven years with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, where she worked with individuals and families navigating Medicaid and long-term care programs. Her experiences across direct public service and statewide policy have shaped her interest in how government systems are designed, implemented, and experienced by the people they are intended to serve.

Karonesa holds a Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health from the University of Connecticut. As an MPA Fellow, she hopes to deepen her understanding of public management, organizational leadership, and policy implementation while continuing to grow as a leader in public service. She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between policy and practice and exploring how government can become more responsive, innovative, and effective.
