Dr. Ikhwan Kweon

Ikhwan Kweon is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the UConn School of Public Policy. He received his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky. Ikhwan’s research agenda focuses on enhancing fiscal policymaking in state and local governments to improve fiscal outcomes. His current research uses causal inference methods to examine the effects of fiscal institutions, such as tax and expenditure limits. Another current project comparatively analyzes revenue volatility across different levels of government and examines the relationship between economic development policy and revenue volatility. He is also interested in research at the intersection of political science and public finance, some of which has been published in American Politics Research. At UConn SPP, he teaches courses in microeconomics and policy analysis.
