Community Outreach Specialist, Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen

Stefano Mancini is a community organizer, teacher, and advocate based in New Haven. He is currently the Community Outreach Specialist at the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen in New Haven, where he coordinates volunteer engagement and communications for over 2,700 volunteers a year. He is an alum of AmeriCorps VISTA, serving at a frontline anti-hunger organization in Connecticut, and the Fulbright-García Robles program, receiving a grant to Mexico City. Additionally, he served as a Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellow through the Congressional Hunger Center, where he worked on the policy team at The Greater Boston Food Bank and the SNAP unit at the Food Research and Action Center. His community-based work also informs his ongoing practice as a printmaker.

He is interested in bridging together direct service with advocacy and policy analysis, developing strategies to effectively communicate organizational missions, and increasing his expertise in social policy, urban and regional policy, and food systems policy.
