What are the MPA, MPP and MASR?
Each of our degrees are interested in advancing the common good through policies and programs.
- Master of Public Administration (MPA) focuses on the leadership and management skills necessary to implement policies and programs.
- Master of Public Policy (MPP) focuses on the analytic and quantitative skills necessary to design, analyze and evaluate policies and programs.
- Master of Arts in Survey Research (MASR) focuses on the innovative skills and instruments necessary to create and manage policy and program data.
How Does the Fast-Track Work?
- In consultation with their Fast-Track Advisor, students select coursework that meets programmatic requirements and fits their schedule.
- Fast-Tracks can take up to four PP graduate-level courses a semester at no additional cost to their undergraduate tuition.
- PP graduate-level courses can be used towards the 120-credits needed to complete a bachelor's degree.
- Students can apply as early as their sophomore year, with students taking coursework once they reach junior standing.
When are courses offered?
- MPA and MPP coursework is offered in Storrs and Hartford once a week. Hartford coursework is offered from 4:00 - 6:30pm or 6:30pm - 9:00pm. Storrs coursework is offered from 5:00 - 7:30pm.
- MASR coursework is offered asynchronously and online. Students can complete their coursework when it fits their schedule as long as they meet pre-determined deadlines.

Save Time and Money
- MASR
- Complete up to 12 credits towards a 30 credit degree.
- Students can complete their master's degree for less than $15,000 while completing their remaining 18-credits.
- MPA and MPP
- Complete up to one year of a two-year master's degree.
- Earn enough credits to be eligible for the Internship and Professional Practice (IPP) Program during your one-year after undergrad. The IPP comes with a tuition scholarship, medical benefits and a stipend.
Meet Your Career Outcomes
- MASR students can pursue a general track or a track in Media and Communication Campaigns.
- MPA and MPP students can tailor their degrees through focus area (electives) to address specific interests in areas including, but not limited to:
