Abigail Lockwood is a public servant and political professional serving as Committee Clerk and Outreach Coordinator for the Connecticut State Senate’s Energy and Technology Committee. In these roles, she supports the legislative process, strengthens constituent engagement, and helps connect communities with state government.
As Committee Clerk, Abigail oversees committee operations, including public hearings, meetings, legislation, testimony, and communications between lawmakers, staff, stakeholders, and the public. She also serves as Team Lead for the Connecticut Senate Democrats’ committee clerks, helping coordinate workflows and support committee operations throughout the legislative session.
As Outreach Coordinator, Abigail leads constituent and stakeholder engagement efforts, organizes public events, manages communications, and oversees social media and digital outreach to help make government more accessible and responsive to Connecticut residents.
Abigail graduated summa cum laude from Sacred Heart University with a degree in Political Science. While at Sacred Heart, she founded the Women’s Political Engagement Commission to empower women to pursue leadership roles and become more involved in civic and political life. Empowering women to lead, advocate, and make their voices heard remains one of her core passions.
She also serves as Secretary of the Young Democrats of Connecticut, where she supports member engagement, organizational development, and leadership opportunities for young Democrats across the state.
