Legislative Aide II / Executive Assistant, City of Hartford

George Luis Deleon Jr. is a Legislative Aide II/Executive Assistant and Community Liaison for the City of Hartford Court of Common Council, where he supports legislative research, constituent services, community engagement, and the development of municipal ordinances and resolutions. He also serves as a Tree Commissioner for the City of Hartford and has participated in community grant review and nonprofit leadership initiatives.

George’s professional background includes experience in municipal government, political campaigns, and field organizing.

As a first-generation Guatemalan American, George earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and associate degree in Community Engagement from Central Connecticut State University and associate degrees in Political Science and History from Tunxis Community College. Through UConn’s Executive Master of Public Administration program, he hopes to strengthen his skills in public management, policy implementation, and organizational leadership while continuing his career in public service.
