Dr. Jinhai Yu
Jinhai Yu is an Assistant Professor of Public Budgeting and Finance in the School of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut. He was an assistant professor at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. His primary field of interest is public budgeting and finance. His research examines how policymakers allocate fiscal resources to improve government performance and accountability, focusing on budgetary politics and policy, fiscal policies of natural disasters, and fiscal transparency and accountability. His research has been published in the National Tax Journal, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, and Public Administration Review, among others.
Jinhai earned his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky in 2018. He also obtained a Master of Public Policy from the Martin School.
