John Eppler

John Eppler is the Director of Buildings and Grounds at Connecticut College where he provides strategic direction and oversight of facilities services for the 1.3 million sq. ft. campus. John manages the day-to-day operations of a diverse team of professionals tasked with providing a safe and functional learning environment for students, staff, and faculty. Working closely with senior executives and institutional leadership, he helps develop operational strategies and assists with overseeing capital renewal initiatives while managing the divisional budget.

Prior to this role, John served in varying assignments in the United States Coast Guard over the course of a twenty year career. Retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer, John’s last assignment was as a Facilities Engineer where he oversaw all facilities in a tri-state area. He also filled the position of assistant unit supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit and its personnel.
