Fiscal Administrative Office, Office of Housing & Community Development at the Department of Housing

 Jonathan Galligan earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Central Connecticut State University in 2014. He joined the University of Connecticut in 2015 and has held a series of increasingly complex administrative and fiscal roles across Accounts Payable, the School of Social Work, and the Department of Psychological Sciences, as well as serving three years as Manager of Travel Services.

While working full-time at UConn, he completed his MBA at the UConn School of Business in 2020 with concentrations in Digital Media Marketing Strategy and Business Ethics and Compliance. His graduate studies included international programs in Great Britain, Ireland, France, Switzerland, and Morocco, focusing on international business, corporate social responsibility, and collaborative work with global entrepreneurs.

In 2025, Jonathan completed a Master of Public Administration through the UConn MPA Fellows Program. He serves as Secretary on the School of Public Policy Alumni Board and presented at the SELC Conference in Maryland in 2025. He is currently a Fiscal Administrative Officer with the Connecticut Department of Housing working in the Office of Housing and Community Development.

“The MPA fellows program advanced my career by developing an extensive and active network of both alumni and fellows classmates, as well as learning how to refine my previous skills. Coming into the fellows program I had a wealth of knowledge and experience in many different areas, but the fellows program taught me how to apply that knowledge into the public sector. I wouldn’t not have been able to realize the overlap of the knowledge I had, and how it could easily apply to the organizations I worked for. This has strengthened my previous understanding while advancing my conversations at work or during any networking opportunities.”
