Peter Towey

Assistant Fire Chief, New Britain, CT

Peter Towey is currently serving as the Assistant Fire Chief for New Britain, CT.  Prior to this position, Peter was the Fire Chief for the City of Torrington, CT, and received his Master of Public Administration degree in 2019 as part of the MPA Fellows Program at UConn.  Before returning to Graduate School, he served the City of Hartford Fire Department in various positions for 22 years.  He retired as a Deputy Fire Chief of Suppression serving as a Tour Commander.  He was active with the Hartford Fire Fighters Association, IAFF 760 filling the role of Secretary/Treasurer for 10 years.  He is active in his community and volunteers his time and efforts freely.  The MPA program at UConn has greatly enhanced his past experiences as he works to make a difference.
