Community Health Worker, Carole and Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center
Rosa is currently a Community Health Worker with the Carole & Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Community Outreach and Engagement Department is part of a multidisciplinary team which assists patients in navigating preventative screenings and access to care. In her role, Rosa fosters relationships with a network of Community Based Organizations to provide education, preventative screenings, and assists patients in addressing barriers to care to improve health outcomes. Rosa previously worked for the Administrative Service Organization for Connecticut Medicaid HUSKY program, Community Health Network of Connecticut, in a similar role championing efforts to address social determinants of health.
Rosa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University.
Rosa is enthusiastic about providing pathways and access to underserved communities and populations. She is excited about her journey in the MPA Fellows program at UConn and the endless possibilities of being an agent for change!
