Eligibility Services Worker, CT Department of Social Services

My name is Sherika Anderson, and I currently serve as an Eligibility Services Worker with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, where I administer the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and help connect individuals and families with essential public benefits. My career has taken me through hospitality, banking, and now public service, with each experience strengthening my commitment to serving others with professionalism, empathy, and integrity.

I earned my Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management from New York City College of Technology and I am excited to begin the Executive Master of Public Administration program at the University of Connecticut. I am passionate about expanding my knowledge of public policy, leadership, and organizational management so I can grow into leadership roles that improve government programs and the communities they serve.

Outside of work, I am a proud mother to my daughter who inspires me every day to pursue lifelong learning and lead by example. I believe in building meaningful relationships, serving my community, and approaching challenges with resilience and optimism. I look forward to learning alongside my peers, sharing experiences, and growing as a public servant and future leader.
