Caesar Valentin is a former Department of Public Policy (DPP) Fast-Track student who is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with the DPP. He is also completing a Master of Arts in International Relations with a focus in Latin American Studies with the Department of Political Science. By pursuing both programs Caesar is able to explore both of his interests.
In the future he hopes to go into the public sector and make a positive impact on the area around him. He explains, “I want to be able to learn more about the Latinx Community and use my knowledge to continue to empower my people.” After graduation Caesar would love to work for the government or a governmental organization. With interests in art, the environment, diversity and inclusion, community development and an openness to ideas he has yet to learn about, Caesar is excited to “…carve a new path for [himself] even if it’s uncharted territory.”
With the DPP Caesar is completing his Internship and Professional Practice (IPP) with the Connecticut Office of the Arts. He is working to disrupt the school to prison pipeline through art. Currently Caesar is researching what it would take to propose an art based mentoring program and looking into what it would take to plan a small scale conference.
