Mental Health Monday: Finals Edition

The Department of Public Policy’s (DPP) faculty and staff would like to wish you good luck on finals! We know that this can be a challenging and stressful time. If you need help managing stress and anxiety, UConn’s Student Health and Wellness Services (SHaWS) will be providing a variety of free online workshops. Here are a few offerings for finals week:

Meditation Mondays:  A space to engage in practices that support mental wellbeing and help build community and connection. 

Mondays: 4 pm

Introduction to Mindfulness:  A 60 minute workshop aimed to support stress reduction and overall well-being. This workshop introduces basic skills of mindfulness practice to include deep breathing, present moment awareness, and self-acceptance.

Monday: 11 am – 12 pm

Tuesday: 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm

Wednesday: 3 pm – 2 pm

Thursday 1 pm – 2 pm

Friday 1 pm – 2 pm

Winter Wellness Workshop: A 60 minute workshop aimed to support living at home, forming connections, worrying about others, managing anxiety and isolation, and other challenges.

Tuesdays: 4 pm – 5 pm

Wednesdays: 4 pm – 5 pm

Gentle Therapeutic Yoga and Breathwork Classes: A 60 minute workshop aimed at stress relief, body therapy, enhancing mental focus and emotional release, resilient health, flexibility and strength, and clarity of selfhood.

Tuesdays: 5 – 6 pm

Thursdays: 4 – 5 pm
