In preparation for UConn Gives 2021, we thought we would answer a few questions about UConn’s fundraising initiative.
What is UConn Gives?
UConn Gives is a university-wide online fundraising initiative to support UConn. It is an opportunity for UConn Nation to come together for 36 hours and transform the university, with every gift making an impact.
Has the Department of Public Policy (DPP) participated in UConn Gives in the past?
In 2019, the DPP had the highest number of donations in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences through the DPP Student Success Campaign. The DPP also had the 14th highest number of donors across the University. With 80 donations, the DPP was able to raise $3,335. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to fund student professional development opportunities outside of UConn as well as student participation at NASPAA-Batten competitions.
What is the 2021 DPP fund dedicated to?
The 2021 fund is dedicated to student hardship, and the DPP hopes to raise $5,000 with a donor goal of 100. Donations made to the DPP Student Hardship Fund will directly support students in the Department of Public Policy experiencing a personal financial emergency.
By making a donation of any amount, donors are helping the DPP provide resources and support to students who are experiencing financial hardship. Your donation demonstrates that the impact of DPP students makes a difference.
How can I give and make an impact?
From 7am on March 23 until 7pm on March 24, donate to our DPP Student Hardship Fund page and help us show the impact of our students by supporting our efforts to give back to our students!
