Passing of John Ward, Connecticut Public Servant and DPP Alum

The  Department of Public Policy (DPP) is sad to report the passing of one of own. John Ward, a 2019 MPA alum, passed away earlier this week after a long battle with cancer.

From 1992 to 2008 John practiced law with specialties in labor relations and worker’s compensation law. He began serving the people of Vernon, Connecticut on the Town Council and Board of Education. John later served as town administrator from 2008 to 2017. Since leaving Vernon, he served as the town administrator for Granby, Connecticut.

Members of the DPP community note the kindness of John and the mentorship role he played in their careers.
