UConn SPP Gives a Way To Support Students Making an Impact

UConn Gives logo featuring Jonathan the Husky and the words "UCONN Gives April 17 - 18"UConn Gives is one month away! Our university-wide online fundraising initiative kicks-off at 7am ET on April 17th and runs for 36 hours until 7pm ET on April 18th. Every gift makes an impact, and this year the School of Public Policy (SPP) hopes to support students through two important causes. Below are a few quick facts about this year’s initiatives!

Investing in Future Public Sector and Nonprofit Leaders

Goals: $10,000 and 100 donors

The goal of our campaign is to help break down financial barriers to pursuing graduate education by establishing a merit scholarship fund for incoming SPP graduate students.

Children with Incarcerated Parents Initiative Scholarship fund

Goals: $3,000 and 30 donors

Students impacted by the incarceration of a close family member or caregiver can face challenges in their everyday life – from the financial hardship of a parent losing income while incarcerated to the emotional trauma of a disrupted family life. The Children with Incarcerated Parents Initiative Scholarship Fund aims to alleviate this burden for students.

In previous years SPP has had the highest number of donors across the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This year we hope to replicate this tradition! We will also be releasing surprises that donors can unlock within our community. Be on the lookout for more information soon!
