With so many uncertainties and changes in our day to day life, one thing hasn’t changed. Tuesday, November 3rd is Election Day.
Whether you’re in our home state of Connecticut, or across the country in Washington, you have the opportunity on Tuesday, November 3rd to vote in the General Election.
In preparation for the big day, we decided to share some helpful information and resources for folks in Connecticut! Don’t worry if you are out of state. We have included a few links to help you too!
Who can vote in Connecticut?
Voter Eligibility includes:
- Folks who are 18 before or on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3rd)
- United States Citizens living in Connecticut
- Convicted felons who have completed confinement or parole (more details)

Am I registered to vote in Connecticut?
The CT voter lookup tool allows you to check your current voter registration status.
How do I register to vote in Connecticut?
Folks can register online, in-person or via mail by Tuesday, October 27th. Mailed registration must be postmarked by Tuesday, October 27th.
In-person registrants can do so at their local Registrar of Voters Office. Folks who register in-person will require ID. Specific requirements regarding ID can be found on The Office of Secretary of State Denise W. Merrill’s web page on Voter Identification.
Mailed in voter registration involves the completion of the Mail-In Voter Registration form. Folks can mail this form to their local Registrar of Voters Office.
Can I register in Connecticut after October 27th?
Election Day Registration (EDR) is available at a designated EDR location in each town, beginning at 6am and ending at 8pm. Voters will register and vote at the designated EDR location in their town. Folks must be registered by 8pm in order to vote. They will need to provide a proof of identity and residency. Can I vote via absentee ballot in Connecticut?
All voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot due to COVID-19 in CT. In mid-September, registered voters will receive an absentee ballot application in the mail. For more information we recommend that you visit The Office of Secretary of State Denise W. Merrill’s web page on Absentee Voting.
