Earlier this month members of the US Army War College visited UConn in both Hartford and Storrs. From April 4th through 6th they engaged the School of Public Policy (SPP) community through the “Eisenhower Series,” which brought Seniors Officers from the US Army Reserve, National Guard and Space Force. These community conversations were conducted with “PP 5345: Project Management in the Public Sector” classes.

Each session included Lt. Colonel Luis Peral (US Army Reserve, Law (JAG), Lt. Colonel Chris Taylor (Idaho National Guard Logistics) and Lt. Colonel Jon Shea (US Space Force, Acquisition). The Lieutenants spoke about their advanced experiences and knowledge of leadership, national security, technology and criminal justice. Their topics included:

  • Stopping Fentanyl: DoD’s Response South of the Border
  • Outsourcing Spacepower: A Double-Edged Sword
  • Dangerous Skies: The Need for a Space Force
  • Do We Still Need the National Guard?
  • Be All You Can Still Be – Army Retention and Why it Matters Every Day
  • The International Criminal Court: The Time for the United States to Join is Now

We thank them for their public service and sharing insight with our community!
