Elena is a second-year Masters of Public Administration (MPA) student finishing her Internship and Professional Practice (IPP) internship at UConn Health in the IT Project Management Office. She graduated from Southern CT State University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and criminology and a minor in women’s studies. She then completed an Americorp service term with Public Allies of CT, working in the community health department of Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Having experience with various non-profits, after graduation, Elena hopes to expand her career further in the public sector and within the community to learn from the experiences of others and help people navigate major social institutions, such as community healthcare and the criminal justice system.
