Yusun Kim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Policy (SPP) at the University of Connecticut. Her primary research fields are public financial management and health policy. Her current research projects examine the fiscal costs and health impacts of public health emergencies and extreme weather. She is interested in how public health insurance programs are financed by different levels of governments in a federal system. She also studies property tax administration as well as citizens’ perceptions of government spending and taxation.
Yusun received her Ph.D. in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in 2019. Prior to starting her doctoral degree, she worked as a research assistant at The National Assembly Budget Office in Seoul, South Korea.
