Through NASPAA’s recent strategic planning process, members called for an assessment of NASPAA’s global position and the services it provides to programs in countries outside the United States. NASPAA President Trevor Brown charged an Ad Hoc Committee on NASPAA’s Global Position with conducting this assessment and offering guidance to NASPAA’s Executive Council. As part of this assessment, the Ad Hoc Committee held three listening sessions at the end of May, two sessions with members of NASPAA located outside of the United States, and one session held with members within the United States.
The global listening sessions focused on questions related to how NASPAA can better serve our global membership, what unique challenges they face, how effective NASPAA has been in integrating non-US-based schools into NASPAA, and their thoughts on what the NASPAA accreditation standards mean within their unique contexts. The focus for the listening session of US members was what our US based members are doing to engage with schools outside of the US and how NASPAA could better facilitate engagement between US and non-US members. |
