Michelle Woods Matthews is the Director of Communications for the City of Norwalk in the Office of Mayor Harry Rilling.

Prior to this role, she served in a wide array of roles, such as Press Secretary to former Connecticut State Treasurer Shawn Wooden, Communications Director of NARAL Pro–Choice Virginia, Public and Legislative Affairs Manager of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, as well as worked on President Obama’s 2012 campaign and taught civics at the Close Up Foundation.

Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs and Modern Foreign Languages from James Madison University and a Master’s in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from La Universidad de Alcalá.
